Fire Department 329 County Road 2081 I contacted Alex of All Bay Area Dustless Blasting to come to my auto body shop to glass bead blast my pristine and rare 1994 Ford Thunderbird SVT Cobra, a garage kept, never in an accident, not even a door ding personal car as I was going to do a custom paint job on it and wanted to take it to metal and work it up from there. Alex and his assistant came to my business, an auto body shop, and proceeded to blast my car, ran out of diesel and had to leave and return to finish. When done, I had to rinse the car and blow it dry before pulling it into the paint booth to get an epoxy primer on it so it wouldn’t flash rust and discovered that every panel on my car was warped, dented and literally ruined. I phoned Alex and he asked for photographs, which I had taken in the booth as we were priming the car and then did a cell phone video on the frame machine rack so it was off the ground, and you can clearly see the vertical rows of pressure dents all the way down the side of the body, the roof, hood and deck lid have large divot dents in them…my pristine personal car is destroyed. I have located all the body sheet metal from Ford and with having to re-roof, replace both quarter panels, both door skins and deck lid, both front fenders and re-construct the custom SVT cowl induction hood, I am facing…no Alex and All Bay Area Dustless Blasting is going to have to absorb a $25K repair bill. I have checked with the State Contractor’s license board and am unable to verify a contractor’s license for Sandblasting services, this is quickly turning into a real mess for me and could be a difficult battle to get Alex and his partner to provide me with viable insurance company information or even a license number to legally perform these services. So be cautious in dealing with this business until you hear back about this situation. A warning to be sure.
